Our natural world is precious. We all depend on it for food, clean water and a comfortable climate. The next Government and Parliament will face many challenges. How it responds to these will affect the future of our wildlife – on land, at sea and in our local areas. The General Election provides an ideal opportunity to find out what your local candidates think about these issues. We have contacted parliamentary candidates from the Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat and Green parties for their responses to the following three questions:
1) If elected, what will you do to make the Wildlife Trust’s vision of a healthy, valued Living Landscape in Sheffield & Rotherham a reality?
2) Do you support the introduction of a White Paper to identify the policy changes needed to restore our natural environment and ecosystems?
3) What is your party’s policy towards the marine environment, including the designation of Marine Protected Areas?
