Our education team works across Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley to engage children and young people in environmental education and outdoor activities. We offer a range of education services, from work with school groups on our nature reserves and in local parks, to improvements to school grounds including the provision of outdoor classrooms, to formal and informal education opportunities based at Blackburn Meadows Nature Reserve. We also run several outdoor play projects that give children fantastic outdoor experiences in a safe, supervised environment. Wildlife Watch is the junior branch of the Wildlife Trusts, which gives children a way to get involved with activities and find out more about their local environment. In Sheffield there are 7 Watch groups for children aged 8 to 12. The groups do a range of activities from tree planting and nest box building to art projects and wildlife surveys.
