Wildlife Information

Gathering information on wildlife and using it to plan for the future is a vital part of nature conservation.  We need to understand how the changing environment is affecting particular species and habitats, which species are under threat and where the remaining populations are located that need particular protection.

The Wildlife Trust has an experienced team of ecological surveyors, many of whom are volunteers, who carry out ecological surveys assessing sites and mapping information onto GIS (Geographical Information Systems).  We work closely with ecologists at Sheffield City Council, Rotherham Borough Council and Sorby Natural History Society and share the data we gather.

Through the Wildlife Trust’s consultancy Wildscapes we can offer a full range of ecological survey and site assessment skills and services.  For further information please visit the Wildscapes website www.wildscapes.eu
