Volunteering

Smiling volunteers

Whether it’s practical conservation work on our nature reserves, helping organise education events in schools or working in our offices, volunteers are vital to our work.

If you are interested in wildlife and the environment, would like to help save valuable green spaces and habitats, and have some time to spare, then why not volunteer with us?  You could gain valuable new skills and experience into the bargain – and make lots of new friends too!

We have many exciting and varied opportunities for volunteers, including:

  • Casual or Ad-hoc Volunteers e.g. at the Trust’s community work days, or promoting us at local events – see our Volunteer Opportunities page for more information.
  • Regular or Full-time Volunteers – people who wish to give a regular commitment to the Trust and gain valuable new skills and experience, see our Volunteer Opportunities page for current vacancies.
  • Wildvolunteering - a volunteering programme especially for 16-25 year olds, enabling them to gain experience and knowledge of environmental projects.  No previous experience is needed and travel and refreshment costs are covered; all we ask is that volunteers give a minimum of 25 hours over several weeks. Visit  www.envolvesheffield.org/ for more information.

We will do everything we can to find you the volunteering opportunity that best matches your skills and aspirations, but please note that the Trust’s ability to offer placements at any given time depends upon our work programme and capacity.
