This year our annual general meeting (AGM) will be held on the evening of 27th September at our headquarters on Stafford Road, Sheffield, S2 2SF. Before the meeting there will be a talk by Alastair Fitter CBE, '100 Years On - New Challenges for Conservation’ which everyone is welcome to attend.

Alastair Fitter CBE is Professor of Ecology at the University of York. His research focuses on soil biodiversity and climate change. Nationally, he sits on the Natural Environment Research Council and on several advisory bodies to DEFRA and Natural England. An active naturalist, he has written several identification guides, including the Wild Flowers of Britain and Ireland, many co-authored with his father, Richard Fitter – a founder of Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust. Alastair sat on the recent Lawton Review and is a Trustee of Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
