  • LEMURs start new life in Sheffield

    Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust have appointed six new LEMUR (Learning Environments in Marine, Urban and Rural areas) Project Trainees. The trainees will complete a bursary funded placement in nature conservation lasting nine months. The project has been funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).

  • Skills for Wildlife programme a great success

    10 young people aged 16-19 have been the final group to complete their one year Skills for Wildlife traineeship with Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust. 30 young people in all have successfully achieved a level 2 or level 3 qualification in Environmental Conservation since the programme started in 2011. As well as the qualification, they gained experience and knowledge in a wide range of practical conservation skills, and a year of work experience that will undoubtedly give them a head start in their future careers.
