Tannery Park

Tannery Park is situated in the Woodhouse area of Sheffield. It is enclosed by housing and is largely flat with large areas of open green space, a few trees and some mature hedgerow. The site was the pilot location for the project and as such has already seen many improvements in terms of the play value of the site and in the benefits for local wildlife.

Before the project started the play equipment was sparse and in a poor state of repair. So far, new items of play equipment including tunnels, balancing wheels, swings and slides have been introduced and are being well used. The team have also hosted many habitat creation sessions with local volunteers including a wildflower meadow area on the site to improve the aesthetic quality and value to wildlife.
