Current events and news from Blacka Moor
The Wildlife Trust is the largest environmental charity in Sheffield and Rotherham, working to promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment of the local area. We work on special projects to protect vulnerable habitats and species alongside initiatives to make Sheffield’s parks and green spaces more welcoming to wildlife. We are striving to bring people closer to nature.
There are 47 local Wildlife Trusts across the whole of the UK, the Isle of Man and Alderney. With 765,000 members, we are the largest UK voluntary organisation dedicated to conserving the full range of the UK's habitats and species, whether they be in the countryside, in cities or at sea. 135,000 of our members belong to our junior branch, Wildlife Watch, which aims to foster a lifelong love of nature in children.
We manage 2,200 nature reserves covering more than 84,000 hectares; we stand up for wildlife; we inspire people about the natural world and we promote sustainable living.
Together, we are working for an environment rich in wildlife for everyone.
