We are delighted to invite you to come and plant trees at one of our family-friendly sessions at our Greno Woods nature reserve, in collaboration with Kids Plant Trees, on Saturday 11th February.
Each session will be 2 hours and booking is essential. Please book for each adult ticket (you are not required to book children’s tickets).
This work includes physical activity on rough terrain so may not be suitable for those with restricted mobility. These sessions are mostly suitable for older children, however we are happy to discuss any queries with you on an individual basis. All equipment will be provided on the day.
Tickets are limited and must be pre-booked in advance.
We work under any weather condition – please bring old clothes and a raincoat that you don’t mind getting dirty. Remember to bring your lunch and plenty of water even if it’s not a hot day. The work site includes uneven terrain and muddy ground – we recommend hiking boots.
Thank you so much for supporting the work of the Trust and Kids Plant Trees.
Kids Plant Trees is a social enterprise helping children and nature to thrive together. We started in January 2020 as a small group of (tired) mums looking to do something practical and fun with their families to help tackle climate change and biodiversity loss. Despite the pandemic, we organised the planting of more than 6,000 trees in the Sheffield area, with hundreds of kids and their grown-ups getting involved.
Children are spending less time outdoors than they did just half a generation ago, and not everyone has access to green space close to home. Yet the incredible response to our tree planting events, showed us how much children and their parents want to get out into nature, and take action to help nature on their doorstep. They just need to be given the opportunity and the means to do so. This has galvanised us to be more ambitious – we now aim to plant 15,000 trees over three years, and to get 15,000 kids involved.
