We are a nation of nature-lovers, but as you may be starting to notice, we live in one of the most nature-depleted nations in the world.
Wildlife is at an all-time low and soon it will be too late to turn the situation around. But if we act now, we can put nature into recovery. There are lots of ways that you can help bring wildlife back where you live, whether that’s taking action alone, teaming up with friends and neighbours, or getting your local community group or council involved.
If you haven’t already done so, please take the pledge to support the campaign
Other actions you can take include:
- Getting the message out there to the right people. You can write to your MP asking for their support for new environmental laws which will put nature into recovery, using our simple briefing materials, or share the campaign’s messages with your family and friends by following us on Facebook and Twitter.
- Creating new homes for wildlife in your local area – hedgehog holes, ponds, ensuring unkept riverbank and garden spaces are available for wild animals and plants, particularly if you are a significant landowner.
- Encouraging others to create a Wilder Future where you live, through supporting Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust: by becoming a member, volunteering, attending a campaign event, or donating to our Badger Appeal.
