Discover more about the nature reserves we manage, the events and activities we hold and how you can connect with nature with your family or through school or community.

We work with the local community through a range of engagement activities to connect people with nature, from Wild Play and Wild at Heart’s inclusive activities for the young and old alike, to supporting communities in Rotherham through Natural Neighbours and working with local partners as part of the Sheffield Lakeland Landscape Partnership to manage the Sheffield Lakeland area on a landscape scale.

Nature Reserves

We take care of 15 nature reserves across Sheffield and Rotherham. From wetlands to woodlands, vast moorlands to tiny urban green spaces, our nature reserves are wildlife havens and safe places for people to enjoy nature.
