River Rother Restoration Project Completion

Some good news! The River Rother Restoration project has been completed at Woodhouse Washlands nature reserve.

Three in-channel berms have been installed to diversify the flow of the river, along with corresponding re-profiling of the river banks. Two floodplain bunds have been created to hold back surface water on the floodplain, creating temporary bodies of standing water for wading birds.

Thanks to The Veolia Environmental Trust for support with this project.
