South Yorkshire Woodland Partnership makes an appearance at the Honley Show!

South Yorkshire Woodland Partnership (SYWP) joined the Forestry Commission’s stand at Honley Show on 29th June to raise awareness with landowners about the support for tree planting and woodland creation.

Many showgoers took an interest towards the project and popped by the stand to find out more about what help is available. There were lots of questions from landowners concerned with tree and woodland management and we were able to offer support and advice on each individual case.

We are entering the season for agricultural and country shows and are excited to announce that SYWP will be joining the ‘Oneteam’ Northern Forest Woodland Creation stand at the ‘Great Yorkshire Show’ on Tues 9th and Fri 12th July (the first and last day) which is celebrating its 165th year! It has promised to be full of entertainment, superb competition and the best animals in the UK to celebrate farming, food and agriculture.

SYWP will also be standing at the only agricultural show in the county, the ‘Penistone Show’ on Saturday 14th September. The show is set to offer a huge array of livestock competitions, farm machinery, food demonstrations, horticulture, music, vintage vehicles, rural crafts and of course the beer tent!  SYWP will be there to promote their programme of free support for landowners or farmers interested in woodland creation and tree planting with further support from colleagues at the Forestry Commission.
