Roy oversees the Trust’s nature recovery strategy, working with partners and communities to protect and restore vital habitats and help wildlife thrive across the region.
Roy has been with the Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust since 2002 and leads on our nature recovery work across South Yorkshire. A long-standing member of The Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), Roy brings a wealth of ecological expertise and a deep passion for restoring habitats and species.
As Head of Nature Recovery, he has played a key role in the acquisition and management of Ughill nature-friendly farm and Greno Woods ancient woodland, and project-managed the creation of the award-winning Centenary Riverside nature reserve in Rotherham. Roy is particularly passionate about rivers, heathlands, and the reintroduction of keystone species such as beavers.
