Pupils will go pond dipping and check under logs to discover and identify the creatures that live there, and make comparisons between the habitats.

Enhance your pupils’ understanding of woodland habitats through our immersive Habitat Studies.

What to Expect:

  • Minibeast Investigation: Pupils will explore one of our woodland habitats to discover and identify the minibeasts that live there.
  • Creature Classification: Students will classify the creatures found in the pond and woodland, examining their behaviour, food choices, and adaptations to their environment and place in the wider ecosystem.
  • Choose your Location: The Habitat Studies take place either at Greno Nature Reserve or Ecclesall Woods, providing diverse and rich environments for exploration.

For younger visitors, we offer ‘Woodland Creatures,’ an age-appropriate exploration without the pond, featuring extra sensory additions to engage and delight.
